SupervisionCounsellors and psychotherapists are usually required by their professional registering bodies to undertake supervision. The amount and frequency of this supervision is usually determined by both your level of experience and your caseload. My original training in 2004 was in Transactional Analysis, using person-centred skills. Since then I have undertaken other training, qualified as a supervisor in 2012 and have developed my creativity and style further. I now describe myself as an integrative, humanistic, creative supervisor. I work with both individuals and small groups offering supervision to help you strengthen your practice ethically, expand your clinical understanding and give you a space to share the impact of your work so that you don’t burn out. As with other aspects of my work I like to work creatively where appropriate, as I believe that this can help you to bring to your conscious awareness what you already unconsciously know. This can be particularly helpful in supervision. |
